At least 15 people were killed when a passenger bus (Ba 3 Kha 3398) skidded off the road and fell around 200 meters down near Pantatar of Marpak today. The bodies of 15 passengers were recovered and 12 others were rescued alive, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipendra Panjiyar, adding that the search for others missing in the accident was going on. The cause of the accident is yet to be known. Although the number of passengers travelling in the ill-fated bus is yet to be established, it is reported that over 50 passengers were onboard. Majority of the victims were returning home after receiving housing grant provided by the government to rebuild their houses damaged by the earthquake of April 25, 2015, when the accident occurred, police said. The bus was heading towards to Kintang Phedi from Dhading. -
